A yoga weekend

Me at my pharmacy at Vivocity. Was a busy Sunday, especially since the Great Singapore Sale was on.

The white shirt is one of the limited edition shirts by Gap. This one is designed by Doo Ri. Worth the price of $119. Good quality fabric, classic chic design. The photo doesn't do it justice.

On the right, a pic of me at the restaurant called My Secret Garden. It's a quiet little one tucked away behind a museum at Middle Road. The atmosphere was good, but the food wasn't that great. I tried both the red and white wine, both were bad. Gave up after a couple of sips.

On the topic of alcohol, I discourage everyone to drink, at all. Alcohol is bad for your liver, it's nothing but a poison. Of course, even I like to appreciate some good wine or beer occasionally, just to give justice to the art of producing it, but I don't go more than a glass each time. I don't like being tipsy, I like staying alert & sharp. And alcohol contains 7 calories per gram, downing a glass would be almost equivalent to eating a bowl of rice. Alcohol also dehydrates your skin.

The dessert was yummy, wished the portions were bigger. A heart-shaped brownie and nutty ice-cream, with streaks of fudge.

I attended a beginner's workshop on Saturday at Pure Yoga. It was taught by Almen Wong, a Hongkong based female instructor who used to be a model, and she's been teaching for almost 5 years.
She's one of those people you look at and think, wow, doing yoga can make you look like that? She's toned and flexible, with great skin for someone who's mother of a 1 year old daughter.
I learnt some tips from her, and can teach better. It's always good to review basics in all the asanas and pranayamas, there's never the end of learning and discovering.
Her style of Hatha yoga is abit different from Sivananda, which is the type I'm teaching. Still it was good to experience her methods. I didn't sweat much, but I know i got a good stretch, cos I'm still sore in several places today. Like my back and calves.
Wished I could have taken photos at Pure Yoga, but don't think they'll allow. :(
